Contributing to Pisces

Pisces is a collaborative project. Without the help of as many people as possible, Pisces will never get as detailed as we would like it to become. So how can you contribute to Pisces?

Most of the development of Pisces happens on the Messageboards - so the first step is to go there and read some of the messages. If you have suggestions, post them! Eventually, you might decide to develop a region or specific region or aspect of your setting on your own. We all welcome additional contributors! Contact the Project Coordinator with the basic outline of your proposal. If he accepts it, welcome aboard! Now you can start writing your contribution in earnest.

It is important to frequently post excerpts and updates on your manuscript to the messageboards, and ask the Pisces community for opinion. This isn't done to make your life difficult - we strive for internal consistency with Pisces, and we have to make sure that nothing contradicts other, previous material. Nonetheless, you will probably find us quite accomodating. And who knows, perhaps the community will come up with ideas you never imagined, but which are too cool not to use!

If you feel your individual contribution is complete, send it to the Project Coordinator. He will put it on the Final Approval forum, where the Pisces Community will get a last look at it and possibly make some last suggestions for improvements. If it meets general approval, it will be put on the website at the next opportunity.

If you later want to change parts of your contributions, also mail them to the Project Coordinator, who will submit the changes for general approval as well.

Don't be intimidated by this process - it merely exists to ensure that your completed contribution will be as good as possible. This process is similar to the playtesting done by Pyramid Magazine - and most other RPG publishers. In almost all cases, playtesting has helped making a good manuscript even better - and we hope to do the same for you!
